Sharjah Ruler opens the 10th Sharjah Biennial

H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated here today at the Sharjah Arts Museum the sessions of 10th edition of Sharjah Biennial in the presence of H.H. Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Sharjah Ruler.

At arrival Sheikh Sultan was received by Sheikh Saud bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Adviser in the Sharjah Ruler's office, Sheikh Essam bin Saqr bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the office of Sharjah Ruler, Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah Art Foundation, Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums Authority Board of Trustees. Also present were Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Abdul Rahman Ali Al Jarwan, Adviser at emiri court and other senior officials.

Sheikh Sultan toured different pavilions which are featuring the sculptures, paintings, films and various art works of 119 artists representing over 36 countries.

Themed, �Plot for a Biennial', the10th edition of the Sharjah Biennial, one of the most prestigious art events in the Arab world, runs from March 16 to May 16.
