Federation achievements source of pride: Sultan Al Qasimi

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah has emphasised the need to maintain UAE's security, stability and achievements, expressing pride of 40 years of success.

"The measures taken by the state to arrest saboteurs at the airport while fleeing the country were meant to address the situation in a proper manner, not to escalate it. Those measures aimed at preserving UAE's security and stability," he said during a telephone call made to the live Sharjah radio programme "Al Bath Al Mubashir" today.

Sheikh Sultan urged relatives of the detainees to be patient, saying: "Every mother of a detainee should know that her son is part of us and dear to us and should rest assure that the measures taken are meant to correct, not to punish. By the grace of Allah, come Eid Al Fitr, everything will be fine." "To our brothers, sons and daughters we say this country is yours. This country has offered the best example ever of a coherent and pure federation." During the programme, Sheikh Sultan responded to a call by a lady who narrated the plight of her 22 years old bed ridden brother following a traffic accident in 1996.

Sheikh Sultan ordered moving the lady's brother to the University Hospital until adequate arrangements are made at their home. He also pledged to shoulder expenses of the private hospital he is currently admitted to, amounting to AED 500,000.

Sheikh Sultan said the holy month of Ramadan was a great opportunity for worshipping and reading the holy Quran.
