Sultan graces opening of model school exhibition
Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi on Sunday attended the opening ceremony of an exhibition of products by model schools at Sharjah Expo Centre. The exhibition held under the banner “This is What Zayed Likes” comes as a culmination of a 14-year process of continuous achievements of model schools in Sharjah.
The exhibition started with the arrival of Sheikh Sultan who was received among others by Mohammed Juma Bin Hendi, Chairman of Sharjah Consultative Council, Dr Abdullah Saleh Al Suwaiji, Chairman of Sharjah Education Council, Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Major General Humaid Mohammed Al Hudaidi, Chief of Sharjah Police, and Dr. Amr Abdul Hamid, Sharjah Ruler’s Adviser for Higher Education Affairs.
Later, Sheikh Sultan cut the traditional ribbon to announce the beginning of the ceremony, which was started by the music of the UAE national anthem performed by the joint troupe of the students of Sharjah model schools.
This was followed by recitation of verses of the Holy Quran and a documentary about the achievements of model schools beginning from Sheikh Sultan laying the foundation stone of these schools 14 years ago up to the present time. During the ceremony, an operetta “This is What Zayed Likes” was presented followed by some musical performances and songs by a number of students.
Later, Sheikh Sultan made a tour of the different sections of the exhibition before concluding with a TV interview where he prompted the students of model schools to be armed with science and show perseverance in academic attainment for the welfare of their country.
